GPW Recruitment Golf Day 2012

GPW Recruitment held their Golf Day at Houghwood Golf Course, St Helens. The golf day in itself was a huge success, this year GPW aimed to pull out all the stops.
For first time GPW used the services of a live, interactive golf scoring system, to give this year’s golf day that added “wow” factor. The clever handheld scorepads and live leaderboard tracked each player’s progress, just like the pros. As the day unfolded, the competition heated up and tracking every swing and stroke, everyone on the course, the clubhouse and online could see the live scores.

Mark Parish, GPW’s Managing Director commented, “The weather always plays a big part at events like this and we were very lucky this year compared to previous years. The day ran smoothly from start to finish and the live scoring system that was used made things very exciting as all teams could see where they were in the standings at every stage. Of all the years GPW has held a corporate golf day I really believe that this year was the most successful yet. Golfers of all abilities thoroughly enjoyed the day… which is what these events are all about!”

Trying to make the golf day as memorable as possible didn’t just stop at a hi-tech scoring system, GPW had “Hole In One” competitions giving its guests 2 opportunities to win a Mini car. No one won this year but a couple came close including our very own accountant Paul Carr who came inches to the pin on Hole 4.

The day also helped raise money for Cancer Research UK, £1000 from a sweepstake raffle.

Gary Ward GPW’s Operations Manager commented, “This year the staff at Houghwood Golf Course, just like previous years, excelled themselves. The quality of service our guests experienced throughout the day and evening was excellent. Thank you to all who attended and those involved before and on the day.”
